Community of Practice on Environment, Climate, Conflict, and Peace (ECCP)

This community of practice is currently co-hosted by the Environmental Peacebuilding Association (EnPAx) and the Centre on Conflict, Development, and Peacebuilding (CCDP) at the Geneva Graduate Institute. The ECCP was created in 2020 by the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform (GPP) as part of their mandate to facilitate interaction on peacebuilding between different actors, institutions and sectors and to incubate collective initiatives.

Over the last 5 years, the ECCP has grown into a community of more than 1,000 members. Since its founding in Geneva, it has expanded across Europe, and currently spans the globe. Many participants represent institutions or organisations, some represent states or other policy-making bodies, and others operate individually. Throughout the years, community members have invested time and other resources to launch specific initiatives such as the White Paper and Nature Footprint projects, that have influenced important policy fora such as Stockholm +50 and COP28.
